Friday August 16, 2013 Day 1:
Ok so I decided I CANNOT take it anymore and need a place to vent, really vent not like Facebook where people judge every word said, so it is now something I hope not to just be able to get things off my chest but to maybe bring you all entertainment and possibly get some advice, other than move out NOW because well that's just not feasible.
A little background: I am 29 years old and I am back to living with my mother and step father. (A little farther background, I moved out of my mothers house at 17 so this is a major shock.) I moved here a year and a half ago with my child and her father, word to the wise NEVER trust the father! I ended up here alone, without my child, and in a living situation I never thought possible and that I would not wish upon anyone. Brings a whole new meaning to me of kicking them when they are down. The entire reason of moving to a new state was to be closer to family for support, being I had lost everything because I allowed myself to get into a vulnerable and depressed state of mind after being diagnosed with Cervical Cancer.
After my child returned back to my home state with her father(the sneaky move on his part). I got a job, nearly right away, and started saving to go back to my home state, like I said it's been a year and a half so you can probably guess how well that has gone. Anyway, in the mean time I have gone back to school, on top of working full-time I am also a full-time medical student. GO ME!
Ok now to the problem at hand. My mother is most likely the laziest person on the face of the planet. I am not exaggerating in the least, there are people who are wheelchair bound, paralyzed and or nearly DEAD who are more active than she is. My step father isn't too far off from being considered the most worthless man ever, minus the fact he has a VERY well paying job (which is a shock in itself because he's about as smart as a boulder).
Now not only are they lazy, meaning EVERYTHING to do with cleaning is thrown on me to handle. Now when I say I have a full-time job, I am on my feet from 5:45 am til 6:30 pm, this is changing very soon. I am now finished with being on campus so I am now an intern. So starting Monday I will be up at 5:45 am and will not be done with my day until 11:30 pm. This is a schedule I have had once before. As I said being people are lazy I come home to dirty dishes on a regular basis.
To add to the fire here not only are they lazy and do no cleaning AT ALL, they complain 24/7 again not exaggerating here in any form. I do truly mean 24/7, example a 20 minute drive they can see one thing, say a crooked street sign(this ACTUALLY happened) and that brings on them BOTH complaining the entire time about the sign and the down fall of the city.
Now for tonight's wonderful problem. My brother has returned to living here as well (again, he lived here for two years and never paid a dime and didn't work a single day) he has been here for nearly 3 months now and has not even been asked to get a job. I pay $300 a month in rent, I buy my own food, toiletries and pay all my own bills(I am a grown woman for god sakes). So the kitchen is a mess and I have not been home for more than 4 hours a day (plus sleeping time) so the mess is not from me. But, I am the one who gets to hear them complain for 2 entire hours about his mess and how I haven't done anything all day. Well excuse me for working all day!
Ok now I am sure I have written enough for tonight I will return tomorrow for much better stories. If you have any comments(unless they are rude then you can save them for yourself) please post them. What would you do if you were me, how would you make it clear to your family that you need to SAVE money to be back with your child? How do you point out that you are not being treated equally? And mostly how do you point out what they are allowing someone to do and criticizing you for your every move??
